Brad Arthur from South Africa sent us a few photos, and I want to share them with you. While not using rotomolded kayaks like we often do, these are way cool looking none the less, and you can see the fish they catch.

Brad Said: I've attached a couple of pics of some of the fish I've caught this year. As you'll see we get some pretty decent fish down at the bottom of the world. We fish off fiberglass kayaks that are designed with a big hatch to store your tackle and fish as our launches are straight through the surf. After I visited their website, I sent a email to the factory that was promptly replied to.
Bruce Said: Hi Perry, We have some stock of fishing kayaks in Savanna with a guy by the name of Wane Girke. We call the fishing kayaks fishing skis here, probably as they were a development of the original Rescue skis as used in surf lifesaving here and in Australia. Our boats are not generally appreciated elsewhere as the price of rotomoulded boats are a lot less. We have very few protected launch sites in this part of the world so we drive to a open beach where the reef is close. We challenge surf as big as 6 to 8 ft at times with the norm being 4 to 5 ft.

Our boats are flat bottomed to pop waves going out and have excellent surfing ability coming in. We have a foot operated rudder system to follow fish, flattish deck for windage and a large fish hatch with a rod chute to take rods of 7ft, and we also have a rear internal storage hatch. The rudder system is also in a hatch so there is nothing sharp to injure the fisherman when he gets it wrong in the surf and comes out. The boats are resin infused to increase the strength and reduce the weight (around 45 lbs)as we often have to carry some distance on our own. Our boats because of our conditions will not glide too well and because of all the internal hatches etc are costly to build. Our world wide sales however are increasing at a steady rate. Regards Bruce Challenor.
