If I cant get my prop fixed and boat registered by this event so that I can weighboat I am just going to have to fish it. Odds look pretty good as of now.....

This will be my first time fishing the trail and my first season kayak fishing. Gonna be a lot of fun I'm sure.

Finally able to get a Saturday off. This will be my first time in a tournament... first time fishing in a kayak outside of OC... need one more first for the day to make it complete.

Hey speaking of way boats. How many and what are the land / water marks to be radioed to the weigh boats for a pick up? Does anyone have a link to a good map showing these marks. I can print out a poster size map, like the one I did for the Huntington event last year. Just send the link. I'm peaking already and there's still 5 more days left.

Marine radio today says swell dropping as week progresses but due to come back up Sat PM. Chance of rain Sat morning, Swell still 6-8 feet

If you have a decent tank it shouldnt be a problem, We did it at the SI tournament last year and there were more people entered than this event will have im sure.

Will, I decided to check the weather when I saw your post. WeatherUnderground seems to think that we are in for more than just Rain on Saturday (this is for PB though)...

who cares the bass are on the chew! I heard there is gonna be a reporter on the weigh boat, you could be famous!

Swells are not an issue, we are not surf launching, and there are no boiler rocks to fish.

I'm OK with one weight boat, I was just making a spelling joke. Big swell and wet weather...perfect! Earn your fish. Work hard and get wet! I love washing machine fishing.

Last I saw swell intervals was like 14 seconds though, Big rollers are not bad.

I guess we will just see what happens, Never fished San Bass in the snow :biggrinjester:

They have upgraded the swell forecast-something like 6-9 feet rising to 8-11 Sat night..and wind 10-15, according to my marine radio,

I am just wondering..if conditions are dangerous will the tournament be postponed, held inside the harbor, or prizes raffled, or can you roll the entrance fee?

Its starting to look a little hairy...my Tarpon 12 is more of a bay kayak

Glad I bought a VHF yesterday, I'd drown in an inch of water haha. Hopefully I remember to put on my PFD so that doesn't happen. I'm definitely down to fish rain or shine.

I am seeing 6.5' and 15 seconds. That is justa big roller, nothing to fear since its not a surf launch orr boilers like Andy said.

If it scares you to go outside the harbor then dont do outside, pretty simple.

Siebler..have you gone out of the harbor entrance? It is not very well designed and can get rough or waves will break. Often during the winter boats like out of Hegren's sportfishing have to turn back.
