CDM Kelp/Newport
Took my sons kayakfishing outside to fish the kelp. First cast my 16 year old got a nice sand bass on a fish trap. Thought it would be the start of a wide open bite..........WRONG, nothing after that. We did fish right in the kelp and got a massive hit on FT with squid but broke off immediately. Back inside my older son had a huge run from a bat ray. Almost spooled 8 lb test on fairly big spinning reel in no time. Fun fight but the "bat" broke off. Nice weather, nice color water, and best of all memories......:sifone:
