With what you said, something along the lines of a Malibu Kayaks Pro Explorer or similar model may be a good fit for you, or a Cobra or Ocean Kayaks brand also. To demo one of the Malibu's, you could goto OEX in San Diego(I believe) or in Orange County or the Malibu Kayaks store in Sunset Beach, a they always have a off season rental kayak sale.
