Yep, thats a croaker. Some eat them, but they can have alot of chemicals in them especially from Long Beach area. Did you get or try to get any bass around the island? The Islands can be pretty good for bass using plastics. I heard something about red tide a few days back. Did you see any in LB?. Cherry Beach can get pretty stanky when the red tide hits the area.
