Made bait today and got a dozen or so smelt to soak searching for a hali. We launched about 8am which is pretty good and paddled out and began the slow. On my first pass, I got one rodeo ride that was a full 8seconds in length before the fish did a self release just when I was expecting to see it
![]() We trolled north and ran into the red tide which was getting started, plus there was ALOT of debris in the water and alot of chunks of this and that. There were still areas of somewhat clear water, but they disappeared by about 10am. After a few passes with no additional takers, we called it a morning and I brough the yak back and washed the scum off it and the rest of my gear. Next time, I think i'll just head out to the oil islands from the start. Perry ![]()
