Single kayakers do NOT need to have liabilty insurance like boaters for this event because it is not likely that a kayak might injure someone like a boat.

You do not need to fill out that part of the application.

Single kayakers do NOT need to wait in line for check in like boaters. Just pull up to Shelter Island Beach and park. Walk over to check in at the launch ramp. Someone will come back over to check your boat.

No bait is allowed prior to launching but squid strips are OK.

You may buy live bait after launching at the bait barge but you cannot fish there.
