I've heard of similar situations with Humminbird a few times on the boards. After my DX200 developed a few problems after a short time, I switched brands and started using Lowrence/Eagle products. I've also heard really good things about Garmin's support if one needs it also, and everyone whom I know who uses their products likes them. JMHO, Perry
