I have a kayak rack on my 2500 when I’m pulling my fifth wheel camper to carry over my top and sticking out over the front. But I also have a Chevrolet Colorado for fishing around home I carry my 12” Ocean Kayak in the back. I just strap it down and let it hang off towards the passenger side. No problems.

Just a bed extender. I used to have a heavy duty one for my full sized dodge and kazkazi dorado. Now have the toyota double cab as you do. My hurricane skimmer 128, (12'8") needs the "extender. Being I just sold my kazkasi yesterday, I will sell the heavy duty bed extender, n ordered a $45 one from wally world to fit my new truck n kayak more securely.
