Robert Sez: Yours truly with a corvina, caught at Estero de Coyote in December 2004. Estero de Coyote is one of the farthest north mangrove swamps on the Pacific side of Baja. It is about a 2 day drive south of San Diego via Mex 1. The road in to the Estero is about 35 miles of super nice, new paved road, actually nicer than Mex 1, then about 12 miles of potholes.

If you take it slow, it is no problem for even a C class motor home. We spent about 3 weeks camped out about 100 yards from Campo Rene, and had easy access to the Estero about 20 feet from the camper. 3/8 lead head jigs with sluggos tails worked for just about everything. Spotted Bay Bass were the bread and butter, but we caught all sorts of other fish too.
