Greg sent us this photo of the console he made for his fishing kayak. By the looks of the cockpit, it looks like he paddles a Malibu Kayaks eXtreme model of kayak. Alot of kayak anglers will make consoles similar to this one or build adaptor plates out of inexpensive plastic cutting boards like you buy at K-Mart or Wall-Mart.

The boards are just a few dollars, and you can make consoles, bait tanks, lids for various carrying baskets, adaptor plates for mounting fish finder mounts and much more. Part of the allure of kayak fishing is the cost, and when it comes to making custom equipment for your kayak you can also usually keep the cost of accessories down by making what you can.
