With this setup, the days of not finding your measuring device are over. This aluminum measuring stick measures up to twenty eight inches, and is very neatly attached to the side of the kayak. Mine is painted in the same location as this one.

When I bring a questionable fish up, I can often glide it alongside the kayak while it's still in the water and get a close estimate of its size. This also reduces handling of fish your not going to harvest, and for CNR the less fish handling the better.
