Default Re: pelican kayak?

Hey bro,

I was considering a Pelican before I bought my kayaks/current kayak. If you want to see one check out sport chalet they carry them. For the money just under 500 be sure to look real hard. I think you could get a much nicer used boat for the same money. Check out paddling.net and do a price comparison. Your most likely gonna find a much nicer boat for at most 200 more. If your still not sure about which kayak to get maybe just rent a couple and paddle them, fish and try them out. I personally spent alot of money getting 2 kayaks (sit ins) that I thought were good boats. But they were not as good as my current quest is (sit on top). After losing close to 600 from trading up each time. I wish I would have listened to others who had suggested this approach. Southwind kayaks has a rental center to try all their different kayaks. I'm sure there are other places local who also rent them and will offer credit from rentals for the boat purchases. But if anything do be sure to check out paddling.net as they have the best info on almost all makes and pricing of kayaks.

Good luck and let us know what you get,

Jon
